1st International Data Science Summer School: Intensive courses to expand data science and analytics knowledge

The Data Science Summer School offers a thematically broad introduction into the world of practical Data Science.

It is a combination of theoretical and practical workshops in data science, data engineering, and data analytics, with a strong focus on applications in business and industry.

The summer school address the different phases of a Data Science project with instruction from professors, researchers, and industry experts.

  • Welcome and Opening (day 1)
  • Design thinking workshop (day 2)
  • Data storage and data cleansing (day 3)
  • Data analysis (day 4)
  • Data visualization (day 5)
  • Data protection and security, ethics, and liability issues (Day 6)
  • You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a hackathon with your own Data Science project (Day 7)
  • You will also engage in cultural exchange with HSHD students to promote intercultural dialogue. You will receive first-hand information about life and everyday study life in Heidelberg through this personal contact.
  • You will also gain an insight into the German job market and working in Germany through direct dialog with the participating experts from science and practice.

Sponsored with funds by the DAAD

The Summer School is funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The funding will support the costs related to study materials, cultural program, excursions, travel (mobility costs according to the country), accommodation and subsistence (250€). Selected students will receive the funding upon arrival at SRH University Heidelberg.
