Arrival Week

Are you getting ready to arrive? Welcome to your new home: Heidelberg! New beginnings are always exciting and bring up many questions.

New beginnings can also be challenging and make us feel shaky at times. The team of the International Office and all the student helpers here at SRH University Heidelberg are here for you!

You are not alone. These are busy times for everyone, but we will make sure to make time for you. We make sure to send you all of our communication channels via email before you start your studies, so keep an eye out for it! That way you will get a fast way to reach out to one another and exchange questions and solutions.

You have been assigned to a group where you will be able to share experiences and ask questions to classmates and students from other semesters as well. Some things may take time, so try to organise yourself the best way you can; especially with your papers.

You have already taken care of a lot of paper work: like your student visa and health insurance (which you will need for many things). After arriving on campus, there are important things you will need to do.

A few days after enrolling at student services, you will get your student ID card.  Make sure to register yourself as soon as possible at the resident’s registration office (latest within two weeks after your arrival in Germany/this is mandatory), get your resident permit, open a bank account (present your enrolment certificate and residence registration to open a student account) and if you want to use public transportation with a great discount, make sure to buy a semester ticket!

Yes, a lot of information. We are here to help you and you will find student helpers and fellow classmates that will be happy to join you to take care of the paper business.

Our student helpers are at the Blue Tower every day for the next weeks for support!

Orientation Week

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for take-off! Welcome to SRH University Heidelberg! These upcoming days will be filled with excitement and information as well and we are here to support you during this process.

You will get to know the campus and its facilities; like where the cafeteria is and where the buildings in which your classes will take place are located. You will also be able to visit our sports centre and the university library.

The greatest thing though, you will have the chance to meet a lot of people from different departments and begin to connect with people from all over the world. The team of the International Office and the student helpers will be around and ready to support you. Many of us speak several languages.

SRH offers you great extracurricular opportunities and is very interested in your ideas and personal projects. Cultural events and business oriented gatherings exist and we want to hear from you. Get well informed, ask questions and get involved! Some of our great events are the Diwali Festival and The International Week, which is coming up very soon!
